Rump steak is on special at Foodtown for NZ$10 per kilogram [usually about $15]. That's US$4 per kilogram. Loaves of bread are NZ$1.50 = US60c [fancy loaves are about $2.50]. Food is cheap here; so is most stuff [compared with USA, Japan and the like].
