AMERICAN BROADCASTER ANDY MARTIN EXCLUSIVELY PRESENTS MIDDLE EAST HERO ADAM SHAPIRO AND PALESTINIAN NEGOTIATORS TO DISCUSS THE PROSPECTS FOR PEACE (NEW YORK) American broadcaster Andy Martin, the only radio talk show host in America who supports Palestinian rights, will present an exclusive radio/Internet forum Thursday, May 2nd beginning at 12:00 P.M. to interview Middle East peace hero Adam Shapiro and, at 1:00 P.M., Palestinian negotiators Diana Buttu and Michael Tarazi. "I think this is the first time American commercial radio has provided an alternative Middle East voice," says Martin. "American television wants 'bang, bang' pictures of Israeli tanks and explosions and American talk radio is strongly supportive of the Israeli junta. "We have drawn worldwide attention for presenting 'the other side.' Despite threats, we will continue to do so. "Adam Shapiro is a man whom I admire greatly. He puts commitment to humanity above partisan or ethnic loyalty. He was an eyewitness to Mr. Sharon's 'negotiating' tactic of surrounding his adversaries with tanks, and shooting everything in sight. "Some of my Jewish friends are offended when I compare Israelis to Nazis, but who else has ever used tank armies as a form of terror against civilian populations? "Adam survived and it appears that Yasser will survive as well. Radio listeners will have a first opportunity to hear Adam interviewed live on the Andy Martin Show. "At 12:30 we will move to half an hour of local Florida news and talk. "At 1:00 P.M. we will present a 'conversation/interview among three lawyers,' with myself and Diana Buttu and Michael Tarazi who have acted as attorneys/negotiators for the Palestine Liberation Organization with Mr. Sharon's representatives. I believe this program will offer a historic in depth opportunity for the other side to be heard. President Bush, are you listening? "This program continues the tradition of The Andy Martin Show's commitment to peace. Last week we featured another American broadcast 'first,' an interview with Uri Avnery, the Gush Shalom peace activist. "We are preparing a program in response to the 'loss of the young' by Israeli propaganda merchants on American campuses. America's students accept the need for justice in Palestine, Jewish students, quite sensibly, refuse to fight for Mr. Sharon. Just like coal mine canaries, students are telling us that freedom for Palestine is the preeminent human rights issue of our time. "Of course, the Israeli government is always welcome to contact me and send representatives to my program. I will not agree with their views but they will be treated courteously. "I was especially heartened when I conducted a program on Timberland that local Jewish opponents of my views came to my defense as not being anti-Semitic and for always allowing both sides to be heard fully and fairly. I make no secret of my views, but I treat everyone with respect. "I enjoy a reputation for honesty and fairness in Palm Beach County, and that reputation is now heard round the world. We do not support hate towards anyone. We support peace for all," says Martin. Andy Martin is the only American radio talk show host who supports Palestinian rights. Martin's forums have become the fulcrum of foreign policy analysis on the Internet. He is a respected voice in America's intelligence community and his growing analysis of suicide bombing can be found at thepalmerpress.com. He has traveled through the Middle East; his foreign experience includes Europe, Iran and Asia. His family has been involved in the Middle East for almost 100 years, since his grandfather, a British officer, served with Lawrence of Arabia. Martin has been an adjunct professor of law and is a foreign policy consultant in the areas of military security and intelligence; he studied under the late Bernard Fall, was an assistant to U.S. Senator Paul H. Douglas and founded the Revolutionary War Research Center. Martin's radio program, heard Monday-Friday over WPBR-AM, West Palm Beach, covers Florida issues from noon-1 P.M. and foreign policy from 1-2 P.M. Media contact: Andy Martin (866) 706-andy.
