Posting to someone who has you on ignore is not a "response", it's like spraypainting graffiti on a brick wall. Rather juvenile, IMO.


Posts are often as much or more to everyone else on the thread as they are to the person you post to. I can easily see a situation where someone made some claim that I did not want to go unchallanged and I would likely respond to the post even if I knew the person had me on ignore.
