What is the point of investing in additional telecom capacity ? Long distance phone calls now are under 5c/min. My cell phone has long distance at no extra charge. And we have 3600 minutes per month. We never even come close to exhausting them. We use that to substitute for the land-line long distance. So we don't even pay the 5c/min on that. Even if worldcom gave us 1c/min service, we wouldn't use it. Knowing that, which bank would lend them more billions so to evaporate them along with the $80+ billions of vaporized telecom loans and bonds ?

Today I installed DSL on my home computer. It is under $30/month for a 2-yr contract. This replaces cable internet @47/month. What next ? free broadband ?
