<<we could make a fortune<gg<headed out on the town..i hope we can meet someday. >>
LOL....don't know about that....at the rate the market is going, I may have to borrow Horsegirls horse to start getting around......that loud sucking noise you hear is the market sucking every last penny from me <ggg>....I guess the house and cars are next.......the biggest thing I have a problem with is my wifes 401k...thought we were pretty well diversified in 5 funds...mostly equities, but mixed small, medium and big caps...plus some bond funds and etc.....amazed at how much we keep putting in monthy, and how much the value keeps going down....double whammy.....and what the hell do ya do with retirement plans......sure as heck arent going to retire putting the money into a low interest, fixed asset, but then again, I guess it's better then losing 50% a year for the rest of our lives......Thats ny biggest beef...although I may be playing the casino with our trading accounts by buying tech when it's beat up, and taking chances on certain lottery ticket type ( all or none ) stocks that will either go boom or bust.....but the retirement plans.....I'm not a bond or cd kind of guy, but still felt we were well diversified in our retirement plans.....NOPE! Seems like nothing is safe in this market and thats what scares me the most....too many people are thinking of yanking their money out of their funds in their 401ks as they are tired of watching years of savings disappear.....then again, I have buddies, several of them that have every penny they have invested in the company they work for....Duke Energy.....all it has done in this 3 year bear market is split a couple times and reach new 52 week highs.....and no, I dont think it's smart to have all your eggs in one basket...but maybe in this market is is....find the one safe basket, set stops and let her go.....while most people I know got killed the last 3 years, all my friends at Duke Power are living in million dollar homes and sitting pretty.....and I dont think Duke is another enron.....it's an awesome company, and either way, enron opened their eyes...any sig of trouble at Duke, and these folks will bail while it's still plenty high.......Me, I'm just sticking with the plan.....putting in the max monthly in wifes retirement plan....all vanguard funds.....and buying tech while it's beaten down...at the same time, I have tried to not pay much attetion to the markets....no need to stay glued to the computer and cnbc hasnt been on for years......no need to get more depressed <ggg>...just do my thing and hope for the best......sure wish I had cashed out in 99......would be retired, debt free and happy right now, instead of working, stressed, and in debt......best to all......maybe we'll get a wash out week...although at this point I just dont see and end to this down market....I guess it has to stop at zero thought..... |
