The SE coasts of England are mainly sinking, and being softer, more recent rock are also more prone to erosion. OTOH more northern and western coasts are predominantly rising as the rocks recover from glacial compression. And this has been going on for hundreds of thousands of years, and will likely continue for millions more.

So? Do you feel personally perturbed to learn that most of Canada is flat continental shield, geologically monotonous and unknown in origin? Does it bother you that the interesting parts to east and west are more recent, of alien rock akin to those in Scotland and Pacific crust?

I know, you're threatened by your own perceived insignificance. Some of us are not, and so are not.

Your post was perhaps offensive or scary in your eyes. Not in mine.
