Well, Churchill had a record handle--almost 80M bet on Derby alone and some 123M for the full card. I am told by a friend that UBET worked fine (When I bet, I do so through TVG because UBET, still, is incompatable with Mac). Even more interesting is that of the 80M on the Derby, about 70M came through the parimutuels from off-track wagering which, of course, would include UBET's contribution to that total.
Remember, though, the competition for the racing dollar is so cluttered with literally hundreds of offshore internet sites, telephone accounts, OTBs, other tracks handling wagers and domestic internet sites.
I'm sure UBET had its best day yet but whether it developed enough actual revenue to keep it alive is question we can't answer yet--unless mgmt gives us something to work on before the next Qrly.
One of my concerns with UBET was the Faustian deal with TVG; forced UBET give up a healthy percentage of every wager in return for access to TVG's exclusive tracks, Churchill and NY among them.
Will be interesting to see the price action ahead. |
