Chilled to -20C, they squeezed it up to 2GHz by over-volting the chip by almost 30%!

"Engineering Samples" is the twig you need to cling to--if these in any way reflect production cores, AMD is going to have a very bad 9 months, until Hammer ships.

No wonder they killed Barton! The only thing that is going to keep the aging K7 core remotely in the running is doubling the L2 cache. SOI would have been pointless. Actually, the "Barton" they now describe is nothing like the original Barton with SOI, intended for servers and mobile platforms. That "Barton" has joined the 'morgan' in the hall of chips AMD never shipped.

You die-hard AMD guys are kind of noble and inspiring in the face of overwhelming odds. Reminds me of the Spartans.
