Though the bulk of quarterly earnings news is behind us, Cisco Systems (CSCO,
down $0.25 at $12.89) is slated to report results this afternoon. The world's
biggest networking company is expected to shed light on business demand for
networking gear and tech services. Will this technology bellwether point out the
road to recovery? Or will Cisco's comments echo today's anemic statement from
Intel? The consensus CSCO earnings estimate is .09.

I hope you're right about CSCO. But if the earnings are not very good and guidance remains "foggy", I'd rather
be short than long here.
