OT - Buffett Would like to say that while not a close follower of Buffett I am not overly impressed. He has made some pretty wild investments, like USAir in which if he hadn't been bailed out he would have lost his shirt. He bought Coca Cola - big deal - so did a whole lot of other people. He bought an insurance company with tax losses to shelter his furniture business and the insurance business turned around. He would have made it on the tax shelter alone so had nothing at risk there. I don't mean to come off quite as negative as this is sounding as I admire much about him - like having a plan and sticking to it. But he will miss the tech (and I submit that today there are some very mature proven plays like amat and intel) sector totally and is very dismissive of it - "I don't invest in things I don't understand" - well me neither. Neither Warren nor I knew what NPV was at one time in our lives but we learned because it is useful. OK, I am feeling better.
