John,

I was told by a medical resident that corticosteroids are extremely effective for treating asthma, and that the only problem seems to be getting patients to take them diligently. I found this deflating to my SEPR optimism. Smith Barney tried to put a positive spin on this by saying that beta-agonist sales have been rising 5-7% annually despite the competition from corticosteroids.
