I guess I wasn't and I will be so bold... Huh? ...as to say most others viewing your NY... Yes, I'm a New Yorker. Life long and proud of it, pallie. :-) ...cynical... Always. ...caveat emptor... Always. ...securities industry employee... Yup. But that has little, if anything, to do with my opinions on this matter. You don't, and likely can't, understand that...but yours is one that spends a lifetime crying for someone else to take away what are usually self-inflicted pains. ...cheat em if you can mentality... How does wanting people to take responsibility for their actions and not eat into my personal freedoms equate to a "cheat them if you can" mentality? ...as being philosophical in nature. Libertarianism is the only philosophy I've mentioned, and in your fear, you're dodging it. The other items are, as you put it "trivial point[s]" that you're "attempt[ing] to make...the all in all[.]" The fact that there is going to be a settlement is PROOF that the situation is cut and dry. Think about it! ROFL!!! That's brilliant; you're a debating partner's dream, LOL. LP.
