The bondholders can not put the bonds to the company in a stock deal, provided it is for publicly traded stock.

Paradoxically, the debt might loom larger to a "going concern". They would have to pay regardless of the program success or failure.

Pretty dicey takeover proposition to present to one's board. Would have to have better insight on recent Picovir developments and prospects than I have. Might be hard to get people to look beyond that.
