"The separation of research and banking would likely have had little affect on making Blodget's research better. " Well maybe it will be used within its proper context - research - not "buy this" or " hold that" because I am a Wall St. guru. Makes one wonder what the purpose of research recommendations really are at all? maybe they shouldn't offer out recommendations period. I mean really, without the "pump and dump" value for investment banking what value are they? No value to clients. No value companies. No recommendations - no conflicts. Problem solved;)
