Possible things to look at:

Does the "Look In" path include the files you are looking for? (Include subfolders selected?)
Is the Date range unrestricted?
And one that should not matter if you cut and paste- do you have "Case sensitive" selected under Options.

I would guess you have not missed any of those, but it can't hurt to ask.
