mm, I remember that right around the time of the low last April (may have been a day or a few days after the low was set), DELL reported and the futures took off and the rally took off to the May highs. I remember that you commented that you just had a feeling that the rally would be a solid one. Not that you were sure that it would go as high as it did but for some reason I recall that most people were looking for it to peter out quickly and were looking to short it.

Anyway, who can say why these bear market rallies start but they have been started on as much as a single report. Granted that alot has changed since then. No one is saying that they see the bottom or a big recovery and J6P is really fed up but expectations are quite low to begin with.

I do see other differences like vix not confirming a solid bottom, but investor polls are very bearish. I will be very curious as to what the COT report says.
