VacationBoy,

What's with this "Oh by the way, I'm leaving for a great
time in Florida in a few hours" business...

If Hoser didn't ask, I assume you would have just slipped a
quick see ya later and hopped on the plane... <g> <ng>

You know that we can't live vicariously through your vacation
posts if you don't post anything about them.

Sure... you tell Hoser about it.
She's had two vacations herself, already this year.
But us poor bastards who have logged several months in a
row without any extended time away could sure use some
dreaming material. I had a two week vacation in December
that was more of a visit to the in-laws than a vacation.
I could really use some fodder to dream a little here...

But no. Mr. Greedy-Keep-It-All-A-Secret hops on a plane
with barely a goodbye.

Hopefully you are sailing from Naples to Key West.
Driving takes about the same amount of time as sailing, but
wastes gas and isn't nearly as much fun...
Although the causeways offer pretty views of the ocean, you
have to drive across Allegator Alley to get to
them...which also requires you to drive east to get west.

Are you going with Kath?

I thought I remembered you saying your sister lives in
Florida. Right?
...and you have a buddy in Naples, I think.

Take a lot of pictures of Naples and Key West. It will
make me feel like I was there and possibly recognize a few
places.

Let me know if the Hog's Breath Saloon is still in Key West.
There's another place right near it too that Earnest Hemmingway
used to hang out.
...and Duval St. (I think that's the name). At the end of
it is where a lot of folks go to watch the sun melt into
the ocean. Usually you can catch a band playing on the
pier. It's that peir that gave me an interest in modern
jazz. Sounds like Spyro Gyra, or Pat Matheni, or who
ever... There was a group of four dudes that played there
each day. They could play a jazzy version of almost any
song title we threw at them. When ever I listen to jazz
like that, I think about that pier and the sunset.

I sort of remember going into Jimmy Buffet's place called
Margaritaville. Don't remember much about it but I think
that is where I tasted Conch for the first time. And
perhaps Key Lime Pie...

Perhaps the best thing I enjoyed about Key West was all of
the artists who sell there stuff on the sidewalks. I
remember thinking of how I could learn to paint and then be
able to live there each winter...or year round... I dug
how layed back everyone was. Lots of creative burnouts there...
They all have interesting stories.

Anyhow, have fun.
Don't be such a stiff.
You owe us a lot of words. And pictures.
Here I thought perhaps you weren't in the mood to write
much lately. I was wondering what was bothering you.

Instead you were busy packing and tying up lose ends for
your third vacation and PMing your plans to a select group
of people from Canada...

...geesh...

Anyway, Have a fun and safe trip.
