TalkVISUAL Names International Telecom Consultant and Former AT&T Executive to Board of Directors; Appointment of Joseph A. Guzman Increases Board Membership to Six
MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 8, 2002--Mike Rollins, president and chief executive officer of TalkVISUAL Corporation (OTCBB:TVCP), announced today that the company has named former AT&T executive Joseph A. Guzman to its board of directors, increasing board membership to six.
Guzman began his telecom career with AT&T in 1981, as an account executive in AT&T's Federal systems Division in Washington, D.C. Later promoted to an assignment in AT&T's nascent international services group, he supported complex sales projects for multinational enterprises, developed markets for high-speed services in Europe and Asia and formulated the functional plan for AT&T's overseas expansion. As vice president of field operations for AT&T's Latin America and Caribbean communications services group, he exercised responsibility for the protection and expansion of AT&T's billion-dollar long-distance services business in that region. In the capacity of vice president of program management with Global Crossing, which he joined in 1998, Guzman successfully led the approvals process for expansion of Global Crossing's business into Mexico, Panama, Chile, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, Peru and St. Croix. Most recently prior to forming his own telecommunications consultancy in California, he was Global Crossing's chief operations officer for Latin America. Guzman, who received a B.S. in finance from California State University Hayward, served in the California Air National Guard as an electronics specialist.
