That is a misuse of the term Zionist. Labour Zionism has no expansionist designs, and even on the Right, there are only some factions that have any such idea, most are pragmatic. Zionism is merely about creating a state for Jews, as a haven against anti- semitism, and a place that could speak for world Jewry in the council of nations. Zionism was primarily secular, and originated as a reaction to the Dreyfus affair. In fact, for a long time, Orthodox Jews were anti- Zionist, because of its secular aspiration to build Israel without the advent of the Messiah, and there are still some Orthodox who regard the Israeli regime as no different than a foreign regime over the land of Israel. Thus, to say anti- Zionist is to deny the right of Israel to exist, if properly understood.......
