Hi David,

Yes, I don't know how they expect this to be "implemented". If I was owning a cdma2000 carrier, I'd frankly be quite worried at this point. I don't know what the direct comparables are on patent fees for the two types of equipment, but even a 1% difference in equipment price could make those networks uneconomic. Of course, Qualcomm could always normalize their cdma2000 royalty rates, but that has it's price too!

There's also a more general problem with economies of scale (if wcdma retains 80% of the target market); but I guess that's not a new problem...
