The telecomms, except for the regionals, are all nearly bankrupt or in such bad debt that there is unlikely to be that much bailing out through acquisitions. What acquisitions there are will likely be at a discount with current shareholders of stocks such as Quest and Worldcom not immediately benefitting. Who is going to buy Worldcom? Quest? AT&T? They all screwed up and must pay down debt to make their business viable.
