A one day visit to Stockholm will quickly dispell this notion. I visited 3 years ago and was impressed to the point that I thought there was ample evidence to believe that the Swedes standard of living was higher than ours. Expensive restaurants that were crowded, late model cars were every where, very expensive stores, cell phones carried by all teenagers(well before the craze hit here), and a military industrial complex independent of US dominance. This was not Harlem or rural Mississippi. Your link, I think, has a political spin on it for the Swedish election.
