New CEO Has Great Credentials!

CEO and Chairman of Colonial Downs Jeffrey P. Jacobs announced that O. J. Peterson, III has been selected for the position of president of Colonial Downs.

Peterson, an experienced administrator, has been serving as chief financial officer for the Maryland Jockey Club, owner of Pimlico and Laurel racetracks for the past two-and-half years where he is credited with reorganizing the company's financial and budgetary process.

Prior to his service in Maryland, Peterson spent 24 years as a senior executive with Virginia energy conglomerate Dominion Resources, Inc. As CFO of Dominion and its subsidiary Virginia Electric & Power Co., Peterson implemented the company's visionary diversification efforts, and supervised VEPCO's sales of stocks and bonds.

From 1985 to 1994 he served concurrently as president and CEO of another subsidiary, Dominion Capital, Inc., managing the acquisition of $600 million in investment assets.

O. J. Peterson assumed administrative duties officially January 2nd.
