The Justice Dept, under Ashcroft, has done a 180 degree turn in their position on the rights of individuals to possess and bear arms. They assert an individual right apart from the formation of a militia. Their interpretation is inconsistent with decisions of the US Supreme Court. Their position is certain to upset law enforcement groups. It is an obvious political reward for support in the election.
