The problem with powerful drugs, is that a good part of a generation can be lost before they can "learn".
And a good part of current generations are lost to prisons because of current laws. Over half of the current prison population is there because of drugs. At a cost of about $60k a year apiece to you and I.

And those prisons are graduate schools for criminals.

The current system is busted. Something better has to be found.
