Could it be that Nokia is seriously afraid of defection to CDMA2000 or GSM1X and sees this as a way to maintain the alternative standard of W-CDMA, on which they would still have high market share and a lot of infrastructure sales, even if it means essentially giving up on royalty payments? Or is it all a game just to make Q look bad?
