First of all, it's ridiculous to suggest that Israel is trying to grab Amman or Damascus. If Israelis wanted to do either, they could have done so quite easily in 1967, and then again in 1973, perhaps even Cairo if they really wanted land for land's sake like you are saying. Instead, Israel did not even annex the entire West Bank, and handed over two thirds of the territory it controlled to Egypt for the sake of peace with that neighbor. Tell me which Arab state has given up 2/3 of its territory to Israel in order to have peace with Israel, or any peace of land for that matter.

Secondly, law enforcement are by definition not "thugs." "Thugs" are the criminals who know they do not have the upper hand in a violent dispute but insists on disrupting peace in an attempt to further their own political and financial aims.

Thirdly, I have no problem with Palestinians holding fast onto their claims to the land, however species and outrageous such claims are, so long as they renounce violence and pursue peace and cooperation with Israel and the rest of the world. Many Mexicans are indoctrinated to believe that the swath of land from California to Texas is all theirs, but so long as they do not disrupt cross-board trade and prosperity, it hardly matters; they can even partake in the shared prosperity regardless how divorced from reality their own beliefs are.
