I don't think the Europeans take a side. But they see both sides a terrorists. Both kill civilians, both blow up cars with people in them.

Sure, one side is more targeted but then they have the technology to do that. When the other side manages a rare targetting of a leader it is decried as a particularly serious crime.

I think Europeans see both sides as having religious intolerance and a lack of respect for human life. Maybe it is because much of Europe is an integrated society with a fair number of Jews and Muslims, whereas the integration of muslims into American life seems almost non existent creating an imbalance of views and a bias in the US?
