I live in one of the boom areas - Maryland. Toll Brothers and Equity Homes are still buying up land here, but it is starting to slow down. (What's interesting on a side note is the land has become far more valuable/affordable to farmers. I know alot of people that are expanding the acrage they farm through leasing land. Also we are experiencing a severe water shortage. Half the state is denying new building permits.

I bid on the earthwork and roadway portion of the site developments. One year ago the typical site was 100 acers plus and it was predominately townhouses with up to 10 units per acre. Now I'm bidding fewer projects and they are 20 acres with as little as one house per acre.

It appears the housing industry is writing off the ability of the working class to buy a home. I hope this is just short term.
