It's worth recalling what Engineer said earlier: In effect, Nokia wants to find more excuses for NOT introducing WCDMA now. Their strategy works if they can convince the average cell phone user that an ordinary GSM phone, used mainly for voice, with a small data component for short messaging, stock quotes, etc. is all that they need.

I believe the strategy must fail because of 3G advances in Korea and Japan, and soon to be in the U.S. Wherever competition allows CDMA2000 to exist side by side GSM/GPRS, the winner will be CDMA2000 on economics alone, not to mention performance.
