Isn't part of the reason the holdback. Some trusts pay out
a larger percentage and don't keep back money for future
acquisitions, etc. ARC has a rep. for being well managed,
one of the best managed is what I've read, and that may
bring a premium. Any hint of problems, even minor ones,
can make a big difference. I really liked owning PWI.UN
but sold when I saw two analyst reports that downgraded
it and voiced concerns about the distribution. Now, there's
talk of it going american and to do that, consolidating
at 1 for 4. Mention consolidation and my hair stands on
end. I'd rather pay the fee to get out, wait for it to
take place, then, after things have settled down, buy back
in. If you go into a consolidation at 7.00 and get one for
four, to break even your stock needs to trade at 28.00 and
needs to show upside from there. My experience is that
the stock trades briefly at 28.00, then slides. I've got
two like that and they're down about 25%. Should have sold
the moment I heard the c word.
