Allen probably feels depressed for having lost so much of his capital with his overweighting in WIND. Also, that he promoted WIND so hard to everyone around. He was wrong in not seeing the signs of a wipeout in the telecom business and adjusting to the new realities. Several warned him about it here, but he was blinded by his own light.

On the other hand, he may be employed by WIND and have restrictions placed on his posting. Still, courtesy would call on him to announce his departure.

His absence is sobering. Now, I see WIND more as a practical investment, not as a religious quest. I think I see things more clearly without the ideology. It was certainly intriguing though and I hope he returns to spike the punch when the party gets rolling again.
