stan..IBM layoffs..."Bad for employees, but the market might like it - cost cutting."....good ST but in the long term it is bad...very bad. The higher this unemployment rate goes, the less consumer spending takes place and that coupled with the real estate market have been the ONLY pillars in the economy so far. I don't believe business will commit to capital expansion until clear signs are in place that business is improving and so far it isn't.
