Dear Walley: Costco's earnings are directly related to how many NEW STORES they open that year. Existing sales stores OUTGROW any of the other retail establishments and have for years. The new store openings are a drag on current earnings but will be a contributor in the future. As Costco begins to become built out you will see earnings skyrocket. jdn
