AMD deep in CPU doldrums
Where's the beef, Hector?

So why has AMD found itself in the chip doldrums during the second quarter? And will it continue into the third.
The president of AMD, Jerry Sanders III, claimed when the Athlon was launched that his firm would always be able to keep ahead of Intel on the price/performance stakes.
He also claimed recently that AMD was already getting higher yields on .13 micron than it did on .18 micron – leading us to ask the question where exactly are all of these .13 micron processors.
We originally thought in March that perhaps AMD was playing a waiting marketing game but the quarter is now half through, and the firm has done little between then and now to show us what it claims it has got.
A whole quarter without any big announcements apart from futureware isn't going to please shareholders very much. Nor will it make AMD enthusiasts very happy either.

What exactly isn't happening, we wonder. µ

--- What's Happening? It isn't hard to figure out. Jerry Sanders has been lying to everyone for a long long long time, and in their quest to eliminate the evil empire intel, AMDroids have been swallowing the lies... Hook, Line, and Sinker.... for a long long time and only now are beginning to take off those rose colored AMD glasses...... It's About Time.
