Nextel Communications Chairman Conway Buys 100,000 Shares Of Co.

WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- Nextel Communications Inc. (NXTL) Chairman William Conway purchased 100,000 shares of the company's Class A common stock at a per- share price of $5.45 on April 29 , according to a Form 4 released Wednesday by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

At the end of the month, Conway directly held 229,176 shares and indirectly held 83,066 shares, the filing said.

Shares of digital-wireless-service-provider Nextel Communications, of Reston, Va., recently traded at $5.08, up 37 cents or 7.9%.
