"So if they are not IMMEDIATELY useful to YOU they are useless. Right."

There is no need for that, Lazarus. I said they were useless to me

I cannot qualify every statement I make with a 33 page legal disclaimer. You know very well what I mean within the context and the emphasis of the discussion. Everything anyone says can be attacked, but a decent respect for meaning and context stays my hand. Of course, the whole universe is useful to me--every last atom. PLease accept that as a rider to everything I say.

"Your argument looks like swiss cheese"

Sorry, my argument is a small block of cheddar--no holes--and not too much to swallow. Any "arguments" against me have been diaphanous and insubstantial. Basically, there has been nothing to disagree upon. My only point from the beginning was that peple who work for public service are people, and ought not to be sneered at. I have said from the beginning that I take personal opposition to different public initiatives; but I do not take opposition to the people who qualify for the work, and I do not dismiss them as being unproductive, unless I have proof that one of them was lazy or incompetent. It is really not a hard concept to grasp...
