The new scientist has a section on alcohol, you can guess these NS guys like a pint or two....

As a student I took part in some official alcohol experiments. Got paid for it too. The researchers were always at there best disguising when you actually consumed it. Some days you did, others you didn't. Going home later I would sometimes stumble and fall, wondering what the heck was up with me (I didn't twig that I had consumed alcohol) They used to get you to drink orange juice, only sometimes spike it with vodka. A student typically can't tell the difference.

Trouble with "smart glasses" is you don't know how much you have consumed unless you keep a careful count. Ran into that problem before too.
