Back to your original statement

<<the cdmaone/cdma2000 migration path differs not at all from the GSM/3GSM migration path whatsoever, now does it?>>

Bottom line

My IS95 handset will work on a 1xevdo network

My GSM handset today will not work on a WCDMA network unless a GSM legacy network runs in tandem.

Purchasing a new handset with a 6200 MSM does not change your original statement on migration path and is irrelavant to the point.

My conclusion remains the migration paths are very different in terms of forward compatibility unless you can demonstrate how a GSM handset will work on a WCDMA network.
