Kent,

I believe the P/E of approximately 40 is based on earnings of 0.42 per share which is the trailing 12 months earnings.

It is even worse than that if you base it on estimated earnings for FY-97 - or approximately 60. FSI itself has agreed with approximately 30 cents per share for FY-97. I quickly ran through the sources I am aware of for estimates and came up with a range from 0.26 to 0.31 for FY-97.

These same sources have a range of 0.75 to 0.81 for FY-98, which as of todays close is slightly over a 20 P/E.

I would add one other item of note, however. If you have registered with researchmag.com you can read it for yourself by reviewing the Wall Street Analysis for FSI. I quote the last paragraph as follows:

"Wall Street has a low level of confidence in the forecast of earnings for the company. The deviation in the estimates that form the consensus is very, very high, reflecting a most considerable level of uncertainty on the part of analysts following the company."

I'll put it my words - "They are just guessing"
