You and JLA were talking farm subsidies last week. I just read something on the farm bill. The first 50% of the farm money goes to food stamps. Then there are 8 other programs that take money from the bill, conservation to nutrition programs. Then you get to the farm subsidies. Farmers get about 1/3rd. Tobacco, peanuts and sugar always get some. Grain farmers only get paid when the cost of producing is higher than the sales price. When the world isn't in recession grain exports are a bright spot in our balance of trade.
