As far as I am concerned, he presence of Israeli on the west bank is not an "occupation", certainly no more than the Jordanian presence there was prior to 1967, the British presence there prior to 1948 and the Ottoman presence there prior to 1918. Right now, the best I can come up with is that these areas are "disputed" and subject to negotiations between the Israeli and an organization representative of the people living there. It is really no different than the conditions in which the Kurds find themselves (actually, the Palestinians are somewhat better off, since the eyes of the world are so concentrated on their plight and not that of Tibet, or Kurdistan), a much better defined "ehtnic" entity with national aspirations which elude them since the league of nations (and of course Britain) decided in their "wisdom" to split their geography between Turkey, Iraq, Syria and Iran. You see, the "Palestinians" already have a country, Jordan, but the same British decided in their "wisdom" to give that country to the Hashemites, a Saudi Arabian clan from near Medina (or was it Mecha?).
