Well Geek S, your posting just struck a chord with me

I am not ready to short this market--but if I were to do so, I'd focus on some of the IPOs.

You are dead-on about the fact that the stocks to zero in on when looking for shorts as part of an overall market decline are the IPOs that have run up a lot from its issue price. The pay-back should be handsome--there is a lot of empirical evidence to support the fact that these stocks perform the worst when the market turns down.

There are no options in most instances--but if one has the funds that is the way to go.
