Impact Energy Inc. Production temporarily affected by pipeline break

CALGARY, May 13 /CNW/ - As a result of a pipeline break that occurred on
May 11, 2002 on a transmission pipeline delivering gas to the Quirk Creek
Plant, production from the Impact Whiskey Creek 7-5-22-3W5 well, is being
temporarily shut-in. This production represents approximately 2.3 MMcf/d of
sales gas and 120 barrels per day of associated liquids net to Impact.
Impact is currently working with other area operators to assess the
extent and cause of the damage and possible timelines for returning the
pipeline to service. Impact Energy has business interruption insurance in
place for Whiskey Creek and will be examining it in the context of this event.
Impact will provide further information with respect to the timelines for
returning to full production as further details become available.
