He lives in Eugene, Oregon, a haven for eco-freaks. Over 15 years ago I heard a similar description of some of the fauna from that area from someone who'd lived in Eugene for a while, so it appears that a certain lunatic fringe is still alive and kicking; at least it's not completely new. Ted Kaczynski would fit right in with those oddballs...
