there are thousands of spindles, so the average latency, assuming the storage subsystem is well set up, is divided by the number of spindles Would you explain that one? From the time the system knows it needs the data .. until it can get it from the one disk where it is stored .. will be the latency of the that disk .. as far as I can see. Ron
