Rob, really I've had a lot of fun with these two stocks. It's just that I haven't made any money--no big deal. However, I am waiting to buy my first Mac (PowerBook), but Apple had to recall them and there aren't any on the market. I like Novell, and I would bet on their technology if they were acquired by a larger, marketing-oriented firm like IBM or Oracle.

I really wish both companies a lot of luck. But there is a very short list of companies in the high-tech industry that have pulled off successful turnarounds.

What is Apple really worth? What is Novell really worth? I don't know. I don't care. But I have had fun with this thread. The players who really know what is happening in the industry (Barry Nance, David A. Lethe, Eric Strohmeyer, et al.) have been leaving their insightful and valuable comments on the other thread. I just started this one because the other thread, at the time that this one was started, was getting a little sickeningly sweet on Novell. Both of these companies face serious difficulties (and I'm not making this up). But then this isn't an original statement, nicht wahr?

May both of these companies rise, phoenix-like, out of the ashes of despair and on toward industry dominance!
