No such conjoining is possible.

Both Iran and the Taliban demonstrate that a successful conjoining of religious and political institutions is all too possible.

The US is not such a country, nor are our neighbors, nor are our principle trading partners, other than for oil.

You're right that we probably would not care about Islamism except for having it rubbed in our face. I watched another special about 911 last night on HBO.

I don't know whether the insurance companies in this country can handle another attack like 911.

My dad says he can't get an umbrella policy because his insurer quit writing them after 911. My own experience is different, we just got one last month, but his property is worth a lot more than ours.

As far as I can see, the attack was purely gratuitous, done sheerly for the ego boost it no doubt gave bin Laden. He did it because he could do it.

We have to find him and stop him, and stop as many of his cohorts as we can.

We have been reading for years about terrorist organizations operating training camps with impunity in sympathetic countries. We can't every get rid of it but we can drive it further underground.
