tuck, Isn't ESPR's drug an injectable protein? If so, it's not really competition for Advicor. Presambly it would be used only in extreme cases. All the pharmas are chasing an oral drug to raise HDL. PFE's CP-529,414 seems to be in the lead - I think it has completed Phase II trials. They are testing it both on its own and in conjunction with Lipitor. It still must be 4-5 years away from the market, though. Niaspan/Advicor have "usability" issues (the flushing) rather than much in the way of safety issues that I'm aware of. Peter
