Len, I think the Pakistan govt. (President Musharraf) is not in control of the situation. Never was and never will be. Otherwise how do you explain the message of Pearl's death being delivered to Musharraf while he was visiting George Bush in Washington. Those terrorists who killed Pearl wanted to send Bush a message that he (Bush) was dealing with the wrong person. So the Al Qaida situation in Pakistan will soon become a grave situation since now those terrorists will be seeking shelter behind a nuclear shield (Pakistan has nuclear weapons and Musharraf who has the codes will be forced to give it to the terrorists and their sympathizers)

So that leaves India in the game. India is much more superior militarily to Pakistan. They stand poised to march in and it is on the US insistence that they have not done so. Now there are reports that the US and the Indian military are conducting joint military exercises in India, the first time the two countries have done so in 20 years. (India is considered a Soviet ally militarily). That is why I find the joint military exercises between the US and India as something to take a note of. I do not understand what you mean by "India will not attack more that 20 militants" IN my opinion India is capable of walking into Pakistan and marching right to the Afghanistan border and link up with the US and British forces there. And along the way they can comb all the terrorists in their path and hand it over to the US when they meet them at the Afghan border.
